We are still making great and steady progress on the project. This week also gave us a snapshot at more indepth group work and problem solving-by this I'm talking about the "People Are Place Are People" assignment. I think we are all happy by the way it worked out. We had no conflict and learned that breaking up tasks and bouncing ideas off of each other works best. Even for the members that weren't there on the day it was assigned, helped us in trying to solve that tough riddle about the 8 x 3 clue. I think that this was a very useful exercise in helping us see what works and what deosn't for our group. The reason I am writing so much about it is because it acts as something along the lines of a training exercise for or prelude to the actual project. It just made me more confident that problems will be solved and we will make a lot of progress.
We also discussed setting up a website fro the group and how the logistics of the project will work. We talked about using a GPS machine that I think Roderick has. That would make it a lot easier too if there was one that we didn't have to worry about renting and we already have a memeber expiereinced in it (in a way it's like crowd-sourcing).
As for research I found a bit more on major themes in the area of Canadian History we are focusing on-an example is WWI linking to major people we have researched. The next stop would be to relate everything back to Ottawa and the Valley
Hey Rob - stop in at the Library at the GIS desk. You can borrow handheld GPS units from them!
